Apr 29, 2016 SP MLA's 'illegal' complex demolished: "As soon as the news reached MLA Rampal Yadav, he along with his supporters reached the spot and protested the move leading to a clash among between them and the police. The police had to later resort to lathicharge to disperse the crowd. The MLA and a number of his supporters were detained and taken to police lines. The crowd abused TIMES NOW reporter Samia and Video Journalist Mukesh Kumar and threatened them of dire consequences, asking them to delete the video footage of their interview with the SP leader. Feb 4, 2016 Governor nod to prosecute Ashok Chavan: "Maharashtra Governor on Thursday (February 4) gave his sanction to the CBI to prosecute former Chief Minister Ashok Chavan in Kargil for Profit scam. The Governor has given his sanction under section 197 of Cr PC, for offences under Section 120-B and 420 of IPC in the Adarsh Cooperative Housing Society case. The Joint Director of CBI, Mumbai had sought sanction for prosecution of Chavan under Section 197 Cr P.C. On the basis of the additional or fresh material, namely, the report of Justice Patil Commission of Enquiry and the observations of the Bombay High Court in the Criminal Revision Application No.136 of 2014. Jan 23, 2016 15th ISIS suspect picked up by Mumbai ATS: "The Mumbai Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) on Saturday (January 23)picked the 15th ISIS suspect in the nationwide crackdown of the anti-terror swoop ahead of Republic Day. The suspect Md Hussain Jamil Khan was arrested from Mazgaon, Mumbai by the ATS first and then he was handed over to the Mumbai Police. Overall 14 people have been detained in this module, apart from the five arrested in Haridwar. The others being picked up are, three from Mumbai earlier, four from Hyderabad, four from Bangalore, one from Manglore, one from Tumkur and one from Lucknow. On Friday, raids were carried out simultaneously in five states of Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh where 14 people were "arrested or detained". Vandana Vadhera, a Mumbai-based singer said in her complaint that while returning from the airport, the cab she was travelling in was stopped by the constable at a check point. Vadhera who is a resident of Aarey Colony in Goregaon East, said that the constable questioned the cab driver and later asked her for her identity card. Thereafter, the constable began abusing her.
